Jesus in 1st Chronicles

Sep 13, 2026  •  David Ravella

The Bible is about Jesus from beginning to end. In this message, we explore how Jesus is revealed in the hidden details and seemingly obscure passages of the Old Testament. Through 1 Chronicles, 2 Samuel, David, Bathsheba, the death of David’s firstborn son, and the birth of Solomon, we look at how these events point toward Christ and reveal the gospel.

This message encourages us to read Scripture with a desire to find Jesus—not just in the obvious passages, but also in the genealogies, names, patterns, and stories that reveal God’s plan. We explore the significance of the firstborn, Solomon, the lamb in Nathan’s parable, judgment, sacrifice, peace, and new beginnings, and how these themes point us toward the finished work of Jesus.

As we study the Word, we are invited to humble ourselves, allow the Holy Spirit to teach us, and see the goodness of God revealed through Christ.
